"Considering the close relationship between fashion, contemporary material and its effect on our mental wellbeing; Retail Therapy captures the essence and synergy between art and commerce, object and desire."
On Retail Therapy:
"My project Retail Therapy was a product of my month-long residency and mentorship programme with Cluster London in June 2021. I began realising the project’s concept during the summer of 2020 but had yet to execute the idea. The concept began as I thought about art and fashion magazines and how people would rip out the pages of the glossy and high-flash photographs of the models and stick them up in their bedrooms, wearing it on their walls. I’ve always loved fashion and what it represents for individual expression but also its power to change our emotional state. An intersection between perhaps a positive and a negative impact which I find interesting."
